western music

It scarily feels like summer is coming to an end. That last month is rearing up and while it makes me nervous I don't feel as bad as previous years. I finally have been productive. Not as much as I'd like but at least I've gotten some stuff done. Been doing a lot of research preparing for Chris' senior thesis. I've been looking up music on spaghetti westerns which has been quite interesting. Yesterday I finished a great read about, "The Good, the bad, and the ugly." A great movie and the book provided some great insight. I've also been looking into the music from the video game red dead redemption. There are certain tracks in particular that I've been asked to emulate so I've been getting my feet plenty wet and tried sketching some ideas out today. Hopefully he likes them. It's been fun incorporating real instruments again.

Qfest 2012 trailor music

Well this is pretty big news, but I haven't really told too many people. I completed my first composing job last week. I wrote music for the Qfest 2012 trailor. It was a nice opportunity that I almost didn't take at first. However, my lovely boyfriend Chris pushed me to try it and lo and behold it worked out :) The music can be seen here at this link. Qfest 2012 trailor The festival goes on until July 23rd. So if anyone is in Philly you might actually get the chance to hear it in a theatre. Which is pretty awesome if I say so myself.
So a lot has been happening so far this summer. Been working at the music library at my school and that has been wonderful. By this point I've pretty much gone through the whole thing for inventory and can easily tell where everything is. It's a nice job. I remember browsing around my Freshman year all around the stacks. I was worried in the back of mind that someone would be judging me and able to tell I didn't know what I was doing, but that seems like a long time ago now. It's nice being a senior again. Feeling knowledgable and helpful to those that come after you. A lot of odd and end jobs there too. I like it that way. On one hand it keeps me busy and on the other I like being a jack of all trades. Just yesterday I was cleaning 78's.
